چکیده

The water retention curve, which relates the matric potential, ?, to content, ?, is essential describe flow processes in unsaturated zone and provides useful information for environmental engineering applications. There are few studies devoted measuring rock curves due rock’s tightness, makes it more technically difficult use specific methods. In this study, we tested four different methods measure of two lithotypes carbonate porous rocks with aim find most effective be applied samples. Suction table, evaporation, Quasi-Steady Centrifuge, WP4-T dewpoint potentiameter have been applied. Centrifuge method proved only one capable determining entire content range capturing bimodality media respect other measured data were fitted HYPROP-FIT software that allows us accurately WRCs obtain critical parameters numerical simulation transport through vadose zone, plays a key role various issues.

Comparison of Applied Water and Estimated Water Requirement by WUCOLS and LIMP Methods for Golha Garden in Isfahan

Creation and conservation of urban parks is challenging in arid environments where daily thermal extremes, water scarcity, air pollution and shortage of natural green spaces are more conspicuous. Water scarcity in the arid regions of Iran is major challenge for water managers. Accurate estimation of urban landscape evapotranspiration is therefore critically important for cities located in natur...

Comparison of Saturated Hydraulic Conductivity Estimated by Three Different Methods

This study compares saturated hydraulic conductivities (Ks) of three sandy soils such as coarse, medium and fine sand. The Ks was obtained using three different methods: empirical methods based on the grain size analysis, the relative effective porosity model (REPM), and breakthrough curve analyses based on tracer tests. Column drainage tests were performed to characterize the water retention p...

Response of tomato to irrigation with saline water applied by different irrigation methods and water management stratigies

In a field experiment the effects of irrigation with saline drainage water (seasonal average of 4.5 dS/m) and non-saline water (0.55 dS/m) applied by two different water management strategies (cyclic or blended saline water with non-saline water in different ratios) and two different irrigation methods (drip or furrow) were studied on growth and productivity of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum M...

A new model for predicting relative nonwetting phase permeability from soil water retention curves

[1] Relative permeability of the nonwetting phase in a multiphase flow in porous media is a function of phase saturation. Specific expressions of this function are commonly determined by combining soil water retention curves with relative nonwetting phase permeability models. Experimental evidence suggests that the relative permeability of the nonwetting phase can be significantly overestimated...
